Stephen Reid

Stephen Reid (1873-1948) was born in Aberdeen and studied at the Grays School of Art and the RSA Schools. A painter and illustrator, he favoured Georgian settings and costume pieces for his work, and was also a competent topographer in pen and ink. He was elected Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) at the age of 33.

Books illustrated include: The Magic Casement, Famous Voyages of the Great Discoverers, The Boy's Cuchulain: Heroic Legends of Ireland, with contributions to The Strand, The Connoisseur and other magazines.
